The Trailer For Jeremy Scott's Documentary Is Here

by Eliza Florendo

Jeremy Scott is one hell of a designer—I mean, who else can put leopard and zebra tails on a pair of Adidas, or better yet, fluffy pink poodles rocking white shades? There's no doubt that his thinking is out of the box, and we finally get a peek into his wacky mind in the trailer for the documentary Jeremy Scott: The People's Designer that was just released. There are definitely some stand out appearances in it, including model Gigi Hadid and of course, Miley Cyrus, who made some pieces for his Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

In the trailer, we learn that the documentary will follow Scott's life from his childhood in Kansas City, where he claims he used to read fashion magazines and wanted to be part of them, to his first collection as the Creative Director of Moschino. We see clips of his family talking about Scott's early beginnings, where he says, "I didn't realize the runways were fake and that TV wasn't real," says Scott via voiceover. He continues, "I don't want to be seen as a facsimile of someone else."

A$AP Rocky is also shown in the trailer, saying that Jeremy Scott had changed his life. "He kind of put the bridge together between the ghetto and high-end fashion," Rocky said. Other appearances include Rita Ora, Rihanna, and of course, longtime friend and wearer of many of his designs, Katy Perry.

The documentary is directed by Vlad Yudin, and produced by both him and Edwin Mejia. Fans of Valentino: The Last Emperor can also rejoice, because the film will have the same executive producer, Matt Kapp. As a fan of Jeremy Scott myself, I'm excited to see what this documentary holds. Though his pieces aren't exactly ready to wear (for me), they've always been a source of inspiration and pure eye candy.
