The Cast Of 'Twinning' Is Sure To Be Double The Trouble

Reality TV competitions are all about alliances. Whether it's a show like Big Brother where contestants vote each other out of the game or a dating show like The Bachelorette where one's competitors can influence how the single lady in charge feels about him, it's super important to have other players on your side in order to win the game. In this regard, the cast of Twinning has it easy.

That's because VH1's newest reality competition series is all about twins. On Twinning, 12 sets of twins compete in physical and mental challenges designed to test the strength of their bond. If they fail, they will be sent packing that week. However, if they make it to the end of the competition, they will be handsomely rewarded with $222,222.22 split between the two of them, of course.

Winning Twinning isn't going to be a done deal, however. Though these twins may seem like they have an otherworldly connection, the pressures and the drama of being on a reality TV show are sure to get to some of them. Well, before you or I make any snap judgments, let's get to know these sets of twins and how their similarities and differences may play out on Twinning this season.

Kristina & Kamila

Originally born in Ukraine and arriving in the U.S. at just 4 years old, Kristina and Kamila may look and sound alike, but they’re actually quite different. As their Vh1 bio describes, Kamila shows her passion for fashion through her style blog, while Kristina is hitting the books studying finance and accounting. However, the two hope to one day combine their talents to open a boutique.

These twins are here to win. They are just as competitive with each other as they are the other contestants. That could either propel them to victory or make the pair implode. Either way, it’ll be fun to watch!

Chris & Josh

Chris and Josh have been through a lot as twins, which they shared with Vh1. Chris was born with cerebral palsy and was blind until he was 13 years old. The two also had weight loss surgery. However, their troubled past has only served to bring these twins closer together. This, along with the fact that Josh served as Chris’ guide and protector when he was blind, should make the pair especially skilled at working as a single unit in Twinning’s challenges.

However, Chris and Josh, who still live together, might not have this one in the bag. These days, they seem to have some issues to work out, like the fact that Chris, who is an S&M “Dom” that goes by the name “Master Chris” (I kid you not), likes to keep the door open when he’s getting busy. That sort of thing will strain even the closest of relationships.

Ji & Le

Ji and Le, whose family is originally from Nigeria, grew up in a strict household. These days, however, the twins are making their own way in life as Le pursues a degree from Howard University and Ji follows her dreams of starting a fashion business.

The other Twinning contestants are not going to want to mess with Ji and Le’s rebellious spirit. However, it could also work against them by making them want to turn against each other. But two twins that refuse to go on dates alone, as Ji and Le do, have to be pretty close deep down inside, right?

Adam & Cory

The other Twinning contestants should be scared of Adam and Cory. I mean, just look at them. It’s like the Hulk times two. If they don’t dominate Twinning’s physical competitions, I will be totally shocked.

It’s no surprise then that Adam and Cory were pro football players for the city of Tel Aviv in Israel. These two are so tight, they admit that they have trouble maintaining relationships with women. Cory and Adam even say they’re the “mom” and “dad” in the relationship, respectively. It’s unclear who their child is exactly. Could they be nurturing and raising their muscles? That’s the only thing I can think of.

Clearly, Adam and Cory are close, but there’s a power struggle in their relationship too that I think could really hinder their performance on Twinning. Physical prowess will only get them so far. They won’t win unless they respect each other, too.

GinaMarie & AnnaMarie

Not only do these two look alike, but they also have way-too-similar-sounding names. However, these Long Island natives are their own people. AnnaMarie has a boyfriend and has settled down a bit while GinaMarie is more of a party girl who’s definitely single and ready to mingle. For that reason, AnnaMarie mothers GinaMarie, even if she has decided to break free from her twindom a bit and live in her own apartment in New York.

Still, a little separation can be good, especially when Twinning might force them each to become more independent. AnnaMarie and GinaMarie may just surprise us all.

Tre & Torian

Sharing a townhouse with friends in an apartment complex inhabited by college students, Tre and Torian are still living like they’re frat bros, even though they’re not. However, that doesn’t mean these twins are without ambition. Tre is saving up money so that he can attend art school next year to follow his passion for photography and film. As for Torian, well, he’s still a little preoccupied with trying to get with the ladies, but at least he has goals!

Unfortunately, these twins fight a lot, which is not going to be good for their game whatsoever. However, if they channel their energy into advancing through Twinning and use each other’s strengths to their advantage, such as Tre’s focus and Torian’s athleticism, these two might come out on top after all.

Shawn & Claire

Shawn wanted to distinguish herself from her twin Claire so badly as a teenager that she shaved her head and has had an edgy ‘do ever since. However, that doesn’t mean Shawn and Claire are constantly at odds. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Shawn and Claire are very close and even run their own fashion business together.

However, Shawn and Claire also have this weird power dynamic that may come back to bite them. Apparently, one twin is more dominant depending on the situation. These two are going to need to work together and not overpower one another if they want a chance at winning Twinning.

Skyler & Spencer

Skyler and Spencer may just be the closest set of twins on Twinning, and that’s really saying something. Their father left them when they were 11 years old, so they’ve only had each other and their mom since then. They hate to be separated and even hope to marry another set of twins so they can all live together as one big, happy family.

As lifelong Eagle Scouts and multi-sport athletes, these guys are nice, but they’re not ones to tumble with either. The success of their social as well as physical games might just surprise us. That is, if they can handle interacting with other people.

MeMe & Key

MeMe and Key seem like they will have some of the bigger personalities on Twinning this season. They’re both stubborn and will pretty much fight to the death to prove her point. I’m not sure these ladies know what teamwork is.

Outside of Twinning, these two ladies have big dreams. MeMe is the more grounded twin who aspires to be a computer engineer. Though Key is a bit more of a free spirit, she’s still working toward making her acting dreams a reality. Since these women think ahead, it’s no surprise that they’re one of the only pairs with a plan: make friends with the other contestants and then betray them. I’m not exactly sure how that’s going to help them on Twinning, but hey, it’s a start.

Bennett & Winston

Like Shawn and Claire, Bennett and Winston have different ‘dos, which should help you tell them a part on Twinning this season. Bennett has the spikier, messier hair, while Winston has a combed-down coif.

It makes sense that Bennett and Winston would have different hairstyles because they’re constantly busting each other’s chops. Still, they do love each other and plan to work together to take down their opponents, which will mostly consist of annoying, tricking, and heckling them. Bennett and Winston will probably be the villains of Twinning this season, and unfortunately, sometimes villains win.

Nicole & Roxanne

Being a twin would be a huge part of one’s personal life, but for Nicole and Roxanne, being a twin means big business, too. The two own a twin-themed bar with their younger sister who also looks so much like them, they sometimes pass as triplets. I can’t really picture what this place would be like in reality in my head, but it just better be double the fun, or else what’s the point?

But just because Nicole and Roxanne work together doesn’t mean they always get along — or ever get along at all, for that matter. Nicole and Roxanne are also twins who are uber-competitive with one another, and they are vicious. If Nicole and Roxanne can figure out how to point that venom outward to take down the competition, they may just have a shared victory on their hands.

Dylan & Taylor

As the oldest of nine children in a fiscally-strict household, Dylan and Taylor had to become leaders at an early age. They especially had to grow up really quickly when they were kicked out of their house for throwing a crazy party, leading them to live apart for a year, which is something they never want to experience again.

That’s very apparent now. They live, work, and study environmental science together at East Carolina University. They even hope to build houses right next to each other when they get married. Now that’s love.

Dylan is more outgoing, and Taylor is more laid-back, but the two still get along swimmingly. That’s probably because being opposite is a part of their DNA. Dylan and Taylor are “mirror-image twins,” a rare variation of twins where they appear to be mirror images of one another, such as having opposite dominant hands. However, as former wrestlers, these two are athletic and are sure to use anything that differentiates them physically to their advantage.
