This Lohan vs. GTA Auto Thing's Pretty Telling

by Alanna Bennett

Lindsay Lohan has seen a bit too much of herself in the newest Grand Theft Auto video game, and she is none too pleased: Lohan is suing the makers of Grand Theft Auto V for using what she insists is her likeness. And it's all pretty telling about how Lohan sees her public image.

The character in question that Lohan sees as a parody of herself is one Lacey Jonas, who can be seen in some stills (below) from Grand Theft Auto V sporting a fedora and some cutoff shorts.

So far, it seems as if Lohan's case could fall a little thin — Grand Theft Auto V is about a whole host of things related to fame and celebrity, and Lacey Jonas in particular could easily argued as an amalgamation of a whole coterie of young starlet images, as her character works mainly off stereotype.

One scene from GTA, which TMZ posted along with their reporting of the lawsuit, features Jonas' character recruiting help in escaping the paparazzi — Jonas makes references to her makeup not being done and looking fat that day. It's not exactly a flattering portrait of the stereotypical starlet, so it makes sense that Lohan would be offended. It's even more telling, though, that Lohan saw herself in the character in the first place and felt strongly enough about it to press charges.

Still, this little bit of news will hopefully fill the quota of Lohan headlines for the week and maybe quell the metaphorical thirst of all the people watching her like a hawk to see if she's still sober.
