Chrishell Stause has been a firm fan favourite since the first season of Selling Sunset aired on Netflix in 2019. Having conquered the streaming world, the real estate agent is heading over to the UK to star in an ITV reality show. Jason Oppenheim’s ex-girlfriend will join England’s finest for the summer series of Celebrity Karaoke Club.

Announced via Instagram in April, Stause recently opened up about her experience on the show including just how nervous she was taking the stage. “If it wasn’t being filmed and there was no such thing as the internet, I wouldn’t really have been nervous,” she told ITV. “In a group of friends it’s fun to goof around, but knowing cameras were there adds some nerves to the mix.”

The nerves soon settled once she broke into her first song: Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. Before you connect the dots between Stause’s song choice and her break up with Jason Oppenheim, the Selling Sunset star made it clear there’s no “hidden meaning” behind it.

“To be honest … I was just trying to figure out songs that I would suck less at and that one is fun and doesn’t go very high.” In Selling Sunset Season 5, viewers saw Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s relationship play out on screen, as the couple broke up over differing views on starting a family together.

Stause will join the likes of TOWIE cast members Chloe Sims and Bobby Norris, Love Island finalists Laura Anderson and Kaz Kamwi, and Drag Race star A’Whora for the six-episode series which ITV has promised will include “more naughty night out antics.”

As for who she bonded with most on the show, that title goes to actor and writer Donna Preston, who recently starred in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald. “[She] and I have hung out since and I am obsessed with her,” Stause exclaimed. “She is so funny and sweet and absolutely killed it every time.”

And her favourite thing about the experience? Meeting new people and falling in love with the British accent. “I guess I am a typical American that adores a British accent.”

Celebrity Karaoke Club starts Monday 6th June, 10:35 p.m. on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
