Everything To Know About Wednesday Season 2
Get ready to meet a new Addams family member.

Though viewers are already familiar with the Addams Family, Netflix’s Wednesday adds a whole new dimension to their iconic daughter. The series — described as a “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery” — charts Wednesday Addams’ (Jenna Ortega) years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she “attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, and solves the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.”
Netflix didn’t immediately renew Wednesday for a second season, but co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were already prepared to continue the story. “Miles and I are talking amongst ourselves about it,” Gough said in a Empire interview, per Screen Rant. “There's definitely more that you can explore in the world of the Addamses.”
Fortunately, in January 2023, Netflix confirmed that Wednesday Season 2 is, indeed, on the way — with a teaser featuring a voiceover from Ortega and Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” which went viral thanks to the Wednesday Addams TikTok dance trend.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet,” Wednesday says in the clip. “It’s been pure torture. Thank you.”
Read on for everything you need to know about Wednesday Season 2, including surprising new cast members and the A-list guest star.
The Wednesday Season 2 Cast
In addition to Ortega, much of the Wednesday Season 1 cast is set to return, including Emma Myers as Wednesday’s perky roommate Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as her frenemy Bianca, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin.
Naturally, Wednesday’s family, played by Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), will all be returning to haunt her nightmares.
There’s also a slew of new stars joining the cast, including Steve Buscemi as Nevermore Academy’s new principal, after Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems died in Season 1 (or so we think). Other new additions include Billie Piper, Haley Joel Osment, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Joanna Lumley as Wednesday’s grandmother, Hester Frump.
But perhaps most importantly, Wednesday is getting Gaga. In November 2024, it was confirmed that Lady Gaga would guest star on Season 2 after producers tried to cast her in a larger role, but scheduling fell through. Gaga filmed her part on location in Ireland, though details about her character have yet to be revealed.
The Wednesday Season 2 Plot
In April 2025, Netflix unveiled the first Season 2 teaser trailer, confirming that Wednesday will keep haunting the halls of Nevermore Academy, the first time she’s gone to the same school twice. Exact plot details have been kept under wraps, but Netflix’s official logline teases that she’ll be “plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery,” on top of navigating typical coming-of-age matters.
As seen in a Netflix featurette released on May 20, Wednesday seems to be getting closer to her family overall, especially her mother, Morticia, who even learns to fence with her daughter. “I feel really, really lucky to be experiencing this mother-daughter dynamic with someone as incredible as Catherine,” Ortega said.
Ortega offered some light Season 2 spoilers during a conversation with Elle Fanning for Variety’s Actors on Actors series in June 2023. “It’s still coming together, but we’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” teased Ortega, who’s also taking on a producer role. “We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”
As viewers saw in the inaugural season’s finale, the Hyde is very much still in the picture, and there also might be a stalker at Nevermore, based on the creepy texts and photos Wednesday received from an unknown number. “[The stalker proves] that threats remain out there… to both Wednesday and the school,” Millar explained to Tudum. “Not all not loose ends have been tied up neatly as she thinks they have.”
The Wednesday Season 2 Fan Theories
At Tudum, the Wednesday cast also reacted to several Wednesday Season 2 fan theories, including that Eugene might have picked up the slain Crackstone’s ring and could even inherit the villain’s powers. “I do think he would want to claim some sort of vengeance on anybody who’s ever bullied him,” Ortega said.
As for the idea that Wednesday might be the new Hyde Master and have some sort of control over Tyler now, she joked, “I’ve always thought it would be really, really interesting if Wednesday had a monster as a pet.” Doohan, for his part, chimed in that he’d “bow down to Jenna,” though admitting, “Wednesday would probably come up with something horrible for me to do.”
Doohan also weighed in that a theory that Weems is alive and took on the form of Lurch in the Season 1 finale “makes sense,” evidenced by a seemingly changed eye color.
The Wednesday Season 2 Premiere Date
Wednesday’s first outing reportedly began production in September 2021 and wrapped filming in Bucharest, Romania, in March 2022. For Season 2, the set moved to Ireland, where production began in April 2024 and continued through November.
A few months later, Netflix announced that Wednesday Season 2 would be divided into two halves, with Part 1 premiering on Aug. 6 and Part 2 streaming on Sept. 3. Each part will consist of four new episodes, ensuring that Wednesday Addams will kick off spooky season early.
This post will be updated as more Wednesday Season 2 details become available.
