On Wednesday, it was announced that beloved TV legend Mary Tyler Moore had passed away. Moore was a Hollywood legend, becoming one of the first women to star in a TV show where the main character was a single, working woman. Mary Tyler Moore's red carpet style was also revolutionary. Throughout her career, Moore consistently took risks on the red carpet, which was admirable for so many reasons.

Moore began her Hollywood journey in the 1960s when she starred in The Dick Van Dyke Show. In the 1970s, Moore starred in her very own sitcom, aptly named The Mary Tyler Moore Show, which won a record number of 29 Emmys (until Frasier). These two shows catapulted Moore into the spotlight, giving her many opportunities to show off her spectacular personal style.

Moore continued to rock the red carpet in a series of sexy and chic ensembles all the way into her 70s. Like, I'm pretty sure she had a better style at 75 than I have at 24 or will possibly ever have. Moore could rock a pantsuit or a dress like a boss. How many 70-year-old ladies would dare wear sheer pantsuits? It wasn't even a question for the bold and beautiful Mary Tyler Moore.

Here are 19 examples of Mary Tyler Moore not being afraid of taking style risks on the red carpet.
