Here's What Every Pair Of Sunglasses From Kylie's Quay Collection Looks Like On A Non-Kardashian

What do you do for your follow-up act when you are a super famous reality star, makeup mogul, and style influencer and you've teamed up with a beloved sunglasses brand for a killer collection of shades? You do it all over again... only better. The second Kylie Jenner x Quay sunglasses collaboration arrived earlier this month and the much-anticipated drop features three '80s and '90s-inspired silhouettes in a variety of colors each.

It's a fresh and funky range that's retro but wearable. I would know, since I received the entire collection — all of the frames in all of the available colors.

With the entire Kylie kollection at my fingertips, I put the second Kylie Jenner x Quay shades drop to the ultimate test by wearing every pair in IRL for a week. I often wore a few different pairs in the same day to make sure to fit in all the sweet sunglasses.

Here's how things shook out for a non-Kardashian.

Let me start by saying that I'm a nyctophile — a person who adores darkness — who actually likes Daylight Savings Time is because I can wear sunglasses for longer periods of time. But this experiment was quite the challenge for me, since I have two signatures when it comes to sunglasses — oversized and extremely dark.

Drop II was immediately at odds with those requirements since the collection features smaller, colorful frames.

But after a week-plus of swapping out the frames and playing with the colors and the shapes, I felt like a member of the mega glam Kardshian crew.

The oval As If! frames are obviously nod to the '90s classic Clueless and Cher's infamous catch phrase. While the film came out before Jenner was even born, she demonstrates an appreciation for the era with these transparent, cat eye frame that are available in three color choices: pink, purple and clear, and orange.

I expected to not love these — hate is just too strong a word for cool AF sunglasses — because my hard and fast golden rule regarding lenses is that they should be as dark as possible so that I can see out, but you can't see in. With As If!, you can totally see in.

I felt extremely exposed and vulnerable, as though I couldn't hide behind my sunnies. But one of the best benefits of the transparency is you can see my bangin' cat eye flick. On a good winged eyeliner or smoky eye day, you want to show off your artistic handiwork and these frames will allow you to do so while wearing sunglasses.

The lightweight 20's frame is rectangular, fun frame. It comes in black and white options with tinted lenses that are more my speed.

The white version is deliciously '80s, and adds a little bit of punch to an all black ensemble.

I found myself returning to the black pair because I love the shape as much as the hue. The verdict on 20's is that the silhouette flatters any face shape.

Unbothered is a fashion-y, statement aviator silhouette that's shaped like a massive shield. The mirrored lenses provide additional dramatic effect, and the overall aesthetic was a bit Terminator-like.

What I love most about the Unbothered frames, which come with either mint and amber lenses, is their bigger-is-better size. These babies took up approximately 45 percent of my face.

My bangs are way overgrown and in desperate need of a trim, so I opted for "curtain bangs," which are apparently quite trendy, while wearing these shades. Curtain bangs are parted and swept to either of your face, effectively framing it. The curtain bang complimented the super-sized shades and a slightly visible forehead opened up my face when wearing these.

It's funny how sunglasses can change your overall look for a day.

Kylie x Quay Drop II is on trend, mixing a vintage flair with modern touches. I find myself revisiting the 20's and Unbothered frames the most. Given the attractive price and the slaytastic styles of both this and the debut collection, you really cannot go wrong with grabbing any pair of Kylie x Quays. I am eagerly awaiting Drop III, Drop IV, Drop V....
