The rumor about a supposed The Office reboot has made its way to everyone’s favorite fourth wall-breaking paper salesman, but he apparently knows as much about it as hopeful Office fans do. On Monday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, John Krasinski said he’d do The Office revival… if NBC were to reach out to him, that is. When Ellen DeGeneres asked Krasinski about it, he all but gave a Jim Halpert-esque shrug. Just because he was on The Office (producer: Mindy Kaling) from 2005 to 2013 doesn't necessarily mean he has the inside scoop about what's going on with this supposed reboot.

When DeGeneres asked Krasinski about the current rumblings surrounding a potential revival of the cherished comedy series, he replied, “I did hear that… on the internet. Guess who didn’t get a call? Me. What does that say? NBC is like, ‘You know who we didn’t like? Jim.’”

DeGeneres assured the A Quiet Place director that the show wouldn’t do a reboot without Big Tuna, but Krasinski laughed that he isn't so certain he’s a shoo-in. “Well, it looks like they are," he said. "I haven’t gotten a call yet.” And though he has yet to hear anything from the network, Krasinski added that he’d be totally be game to return if asked. “Oh my God, are you kidding?” he said. “I’d love to get that gang back together.”

You hear that, Halpert heads? Krasinski would be stoked to go back to Scranton. There's only one thing holding him back: he hasn't gotten *the call.*

Back in December, TVLine reported that a The Office revival could be coming down the pike, but series star Steve Carell would not reprise the role of Michael Scott. However, TVLine did say that the revival would include some actors from the original cast. Do you hear that? That is the sound of a chorus of The Office fans whispering, “But which Dunder Mifflin staffers will come back?”

While nothing’s confirmed or official, several members of The Office ensemble have commented on the reboot rumor. At the 2018 Winter TCAs, Jenna Fischer told The Hollywood Reporter that she thinks “the idea of an Office revival is a great idea.” She continued,

“I would be honored to come back in any way that I am able to. I loved playing that character and as long as Greg Daniels is the person in charge and the visionary behind it, then I would absolutely be up for it.”

Krasinski isn't the only one who hasn't heard from the network: When Cinema Blend asked Rainn Wilson about the revival last month, he noted that NBC has yet to reach out to anyone about it. He also said that he would be relatively open to some sort of reunion situation. He explained,

“I think everyone feels the same way. If the timing is right, if the idea is right then we'd love to do something. I don't wanna go do new Office episodes. Kinda like on Will & Grace, they're just doing the show again. I don't really have a desire to do that. But if there was some fun little arc where we get to revisit our characters in a given time, that could be a lot of fun.”

Angela Kinsey and Creed Bratton have said that they’d be down to head back to Scranton, too. *Grabs an adding machine off of Angela Martin’s desk and does some quick calculations.* Well, if a revival does come to fruition, it sounds like there are at least five Dunder Mifflin alums who’d be raring to revisit their roles.

Now, if these calls really haven’t happened already but are going to happen at some point, they’ll probably happen relatively soon: According to TVLine, NBC is reportedly aiming to bring back the show for the 2018-2019 season. And if Dunder Mifflin's resident prankster gets that call, you can probably bet your Battlestar Galactica sweatshirt that Krasinski will be a part of the redux.
