You know and love her for her impeccable style... and for her latest outfit, Kate Middleton stunned in a red off-the-shoulder maxi dress — AKA one of the biggest trends of 2017. It's quite a different look than we're used to seeing from the Duchess of Cambridge — but then again, it stands to reason that she'd go for a slightly more relaxed look for a garden party, held as a celebration for the Queen's birthday at the British ambassador's home in Berlin. She's worn some really great ensembles throughout her summer tour of Poland and Germany but this one might just be the best — and it is, without question, the most 2017.

The dress in question was an Alexander McQueen creation, with the ruffled Bardot neckline mirrored in the ruffled, ankle-length hemline. Made with cotton and silk, the dress had something of a rustic vibe. To set off the look, she wore strappy sandals and tasseled earrings — and she wore her new short hair down (and majorly blown out). All in all, it was probably one of the most on-trend summer ensemble she's worn to date — and she pulled off that specific brand of laidback glamour with major aplomb.

Who ever would have guessed that the Duchess of Cambridge would go full on fashionista prairie girl?

She looks great, but it's almost odd to see her dressing with such a mind to current trends. What's next? A '90s-esque choker necklace? A millenial pink handbag? Smoked peach hair?

At the end of the day, it was basically the perfect dress for a summery birthday party in honor of the Queen. You do you, Kate.
