The world may have come to know Stephen King through his absolute mastery of the horror genre, but it turns out that he's not a bad comedian either. Stephen King's Twitter rampage on Donald Trump's wiretapping claims amounted to really the only trolling of the situation that you could possibly need. Besides, Trump's claims about Obama, which thus far have no credible evidence, don't necessarily seem less outrageous than a Stephen King novel.

When the 45th president of the United States launched into his Twitter-based rant alleging that Obama had somehow wiretapped Trump Tower. "How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!" tweeted the leader of the free world.

After a week that began with a relatively restrained and, at least compared to his unhinged circus show of a press conference, presidential address to Congress, this was a complete spiral. But while many were shocked into silence, the prolific King took matters into his own hands via Twitter.

King essentially wrote a short story trolling Trump, complete with a plot twist and a scary ending. If you're Trump, I'm sure this ranks right up there with The Shining in terms of scare factor.

Obama in the White House with scissors! It sounds like the ending of a game of Trump-paranoia Clue. And really, the whole thing is no more or less believable than what Trump originally tweeted about Obama. They both offer equal amounts of paranoia, equal amounts of evidence for their claims, and equal amounts of entertainment value. However, I'd venture to say that of the two, Trump's outburst was definitely the more frightening.

Strange though it may seem that one of the world's preeminent horror writers has offered the best comedic take on the situation, King has actually been trolling Trump on Twitter for about a year now. However, if you'd prefer to see another side of his hilarity, you could always check out his posts about his adorable corgi, Molly, also known as "The Thing of Evil."

I can't say I would ever expect to turn to the author behind Carrie for a much needed dose of comedic levity. Then again, I also didn't expect to be calling a reality TV star my president in 2017.
