"We actually just started with the name. I just really wanted to make something called Unicorn Snot. And I knew it was going to be glittery and gooey, " Jason Feinberg, founder of FCTRY tells Bustle via email. "At first, I actually was looking into making a glitter glue just because I couldn't think of what other goo to use and the project just stalled for a while because, well, glitter glue was just kind of hard to get excited about."

I never thought rubbing Unicorn Snot all over my lips would be this much fun. The colors go on smooth and have a serious shine to them, and the cotton candy scent didn't hurt either. Honestly, I thought that having glitter all over my lips would be uncomfortable, but it wasn't at all! It was just like any other gloss, but with way more shine to it. Here's how the purple shade looks on my lips.

The amount of glitter depends on how much of the product you put on. I did two layers, and it was noticeable but not too shocking. Although Unicorn Snot comes in five different colors, the shade is barely noticeable on the lips. The color of the glitter does change with every product, but you'll get a sheer, glossy finish. The thicker the swatch, the more color you'll get.

"Last year Unicorn Snot blew up and we literally couldn't make enough of it. It was crazy — and really fun. So now we've begun expanding the line line but we're doing it really carefully. We want to maintain the fun and quirkiness that makes it special. Unicorn Snot lip gloss is the first new item in the range," Feinberg says. "We plan on coming out with a few new Unicorn Snot items next year. I don't want to give away too much but the idea is to stick to glittery goo, and it turns out there's plenty of fun stuff that fits into that category."
