As January rolls along, the final few weeks of the Obama administration are approaching. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have left quite a mark on the country during their eight-year term. During that time, Barack passed historic health care reform and Michelle encouraged healthy eating and exercise among children, among many other accomplishments. But the Obamas also contributed to American pop culture in a distinctive way by reaching out to young people via media appearances. Here, I've rounded up the best unexpected Barack and Michelle TV cameos so we can relive the good times.

The Obamas' TV appearances go beyond the typical late-night and daytime TV talk shows (although they certainly did many of those, whether Michelle was dancing with Ellen or Barack was reading mean tweets with Jimmy Kimmel). The couple's charisma and charm have made them a natural fit for TV, and America has loved watching them. After all, there's nothing like turning on your television and being able to see your president doing a fake job interview with Stephen Colbert. It makes the first couple just a little more relatable, and also gives them an opportunity to bring their policies and ideas to the public in a fun, engaging way. By making themselves available to cable audiences, they caught the attention of the American people and definitely had some fun while they were at it, which is never a bad thing.

Michelle On Parks And Recreation

In 2014, Michelle made a cameo on NBC's Parks and Recreation, where other various government officials had also made appearances, including Joe Biden and John McCain. In one season finale, Michelle appears to encourage Amy Poehler's character, Leslie Knope, to take a job at the National Park Service, and a hilarious Knope freakout commences.

Barack On MythBusters

Barack invited MythBusters hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to the White House in 2010 to challenge them to get to the bottom of Archimedes' solar death ray. It was said that Archimedes used mirrors and the sun to set fire to Roman ships.

Michelle On "Carpool Karaoke"

In a very fun appearance, Michelle takes an opportunity to drive around the White House with James Corden, and the pair sing along to Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, and even get a visit from Missy Elliott. They also do the "Single Ladies" dance, which is a must-watch.

Barack On Between Two Ferns

It was pretty unexpected when Barack joined Zach Galifianakis on his Funny or Die comedy show Between Two Ferns. In the six-minute segment, the president deadpans and doesn't hold back with the sly insults to Galifianakis while promoting the Affordable Care Act. It's Barack at his most charming.

Michelle On NCIS

Although Michelle's TV appearances often promote her healthy eating and exercise campaign Let's Move!, the First Lady made an appearance on NCIS earlier this year to talk about Joining Forces, her and Jill Biden's program to help military families. According to Rolling Stone, Michelle's scene actually took place in the Blue Room of the White House.

Barack On "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee"

Obviously, Jerry Seinfeld's web series "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee" scored a huge get when Barack agreed to be on the show. The episode is nearly 20 minutes of awesome interaction between Barack and Seinfeld, with both funny moments and honest conversation.

Michelle On iCarly

Michelle took to the Nickelodeon tween show iCarly in 2012 to talk about Joining Forces in an episode in which the main character struggles with her father's extended overseas deployment. It's a touching moment, and definitely reaches a different audience than some of Michelle's other appearances.

Barack Meets Kid President

The incredibly adorable Kid President (Robby Novak of Rainn Wilson's SoulPancake) met with Barack at the White House for the Easter Egg Roll, and the pair's chemistry was palpable.

Michelle Goes Shopping With Ellen

Although Michelle and Ellen are often dancing together, the talk show host decided to mix things up a bit. In the video, Ellen shows the First Lady how to adjust to life after the White House by taking Michelle shopping at a local CVS. Crazy and hilarious antics ensue.

Barack "Slow Jams The News"

Of all of Barack's late night TV appearances, this is perhaps the best and funniest of them all. In it, the president took a dig at Trump and summarized all the good that his administration has provided. What's better than a singing POTUS? A POTUS who sings and dances to Rihanna.

Overall, the Obamas have been incredibly good at connecting with the American people. We'll be sad to see them go.
