Three days to go, everyone. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, you might be living under a rock, because the presidential inauguration occurring this Friday is all anyone can talk about. Whether it's the less-than-stellar musical line-up or the number of Democrats deciding not to attend, the event is taking over the news this week, and the talk will only get louder as Friday comes closer.

Chelsea Manning + Her Jail Sentence

In a major move on Tuesday, President Obama commuted the sentence of Chelsea Manning, the army intelligence analyst who was convicted in 2013 of violating the Espionage Act by leaking classified information to Wikileaks. Thanks to the commutation, Manning will be released in May 2017, not 2045. It's a major win both for Manning and her many supporters.

What's Next: Although the pardon is undoubtedly great news for Manning, it still leaves a few questions in the air, such as whether Trump can reverse the decision once he's president and if Obama will pardon Manning's fellow whistleblower, Edward Snowden, too. POTUS has only a few days left in office, so if anything's going to happen there, it'll have to be ASAP.

The Women's March + Feminists On The Fence

Although many women are planning on heading to Washington, D.C. (or their nearest cities) to join the Women's March on Saturday, others are unsure if protesting is the right choice or worth the effort.
