Bustle's Editors On #FailureFriday & Oprah

by Melissa Mills

It's summer and it's a Friday, but is it just me or did today feel Monday AF? That's probably due to all of the health care news late last night and this morning (more on that below) but, at least for now, millions of Americans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they've still got health care.

Now that the health care conversation's momentarily on hold, you can free up some space in your brain for happier news, like the 21 products on Amazon that will legit change your life, a Parks and Rec reunion that'll make you smile, and what you can expect on Netflix come August (see below!).

So let's get right to it. Here's what had Bustle's editors talking today, July 28:

Obamacare + #FailureFriday

Late Thursday night, three Republicans and every Democrat put the final nail in the coffin for the plan to repeal Obamacare. While John McCain's "no" vote was likely the most dramatic moment of the night, Republican senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are the ones who really helped kill the skinny repeal bill (even if McCain's getting all the credit). Donald Trump, of course, is not happy and tweeted that all Senators opposed to the Obamacare repeal "let the American people down," but Twitter's having a field day with what it's calling "Failure Friday". Looks like Senate Republicans might be out of options for now.

So... What Now? Obamacare hasn't been repealed or replaced, but here's what the Senate's health care vote failure actually means for millennial women.

R. Kelly + "Cult"

For the first time since allegations were made that R. Kelly was holding women against their will in a "cult", the musician responded in a video speaking directly to fans. In the video Kelly denies any wrongdoing, saying:

"I just want to let all of my fans out there know that despite all of the crap y’all hearing I will be coming to the east coast to do my show. And believe me, y’all, it’s a bunch of crap. All right, so I hope to see y'all there. I love y'all."

Must-See: The first trailer for Transparent Season 4 was released today along with a statement from the cast and creators on Trump's trans military ban this week and it's all so on-point.

Target + Rewards

Say it ain't so: Target is ending its Cartwheel rewards program and people are NOT happy. The loyalty program, which was geared toward in-store shopping versus online shopping, would allow customers to rack up points based on what you bought. Now, Cartwheel members have until August 27 to redeem points or risk losing the perks completely. While this news is definitely a bummer for those who've been saving their points, Target told CNBC that the company "had many learnings about how to engage and reward guests that we plan to leverage in the future." Could we be looking at more online and in-app goodies to come? Only time will tell.

OMG: The Parks and Rec cast reunited to support Aubrey Plaza at her Ingrid Goes West premiere and fans everywhere are going wild over this resulting photo.

Oprah + Mindy Kaling

Looks like Mindy Kaling really is pregnant, according to Oprah. The 63-year-old powerhouse confirmed Kaling's pregnancy and so much more in an interview with People:

"That’s when she told me," Oprah said. "My mouth dropped. 'What did you just say?' she said, 'Oh, Oprah, I don’t think you know. I’m 5 months pregnant.' And I said, 'WHAAAAT?!'"

But that's not all. Apparently Kaling's A Wrinkle In Time co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Ava DuVernay know about the happy news, too. Kaling's yet to confirm the news herself, so all we have is Winfrey's word for now.

Can you be mad if Oprah spills the beans about your pregnancy? Probably not.

Not OK: A paparazzi photo of George Clooney's twins has been published & Clooney is now planning to take legal action.

Today's WTF Moment: Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake's iconic matching denim look is now available as a t-shirt, because why not.

What To Watch: Can you believe it's already almost August?! Some of your all-time faves (10 Things I Hate About You! Superbad!) are leaving Netflix, so you better settle in to watch them one more time before July is over.

Weekend Plans: Here's exactly what you can expect this weekend, based on your zodiac sign.
