Having sex in public seems incredibly sexy to some, while it makes others feel panicky. Personally, it makes me start worrying about sticks and dirt in weird places. The truth is, it's something that we don't talk about that often, so it's hard to tell if people are actually doing it as much as they are in the movies or on TV. But a recent survey of 1,000 Americans and 1,000 Europeans by Superdrug Online Doctor looked at how people feel about sex in public — if they're doing it, where they're doing it, and if they'd like to do it. And you know what? It's a common sexual fantasy and an easy one to act out — just be smart about it and try not to get arrested.
"Fantasies play an important role in our lives, as they offer a form of escapism from the everyday," Astroglide's Resident Sexologist Dr. Jessica O'Reilly tells Bustle. "Fantasies may offer a glimpse into the thematic elements of your real-life desires, but it’s important to note that sexual fantasies often include acts, people, and scenarios that we’d never want to pursue in real life."
So for some people, sex in pubic might only remain a daydream — and that's totally fine. As far as being turned on by some outdoor dalliances, 56 percent of men said they'd be into it. But less than half of women did— only 44 percent said it would tickle their fancy. But where were people actually doing it?
Here are the locations that Superdrug Online Doctor found were the most popular for outdoor shenanigans, according to American respondents:

At The Park
When I think parks, I tend to think of dog poop and random people walking around. But apparently, they're walking around with a purpose — because parks came number one on the list for Americans (and for Europeans too, incidentally). In fact, almost 17 percent of respondents said they had gotten down in a park at some point, which I think is pretty impressive considering how public parks really are.

In A Parking Lot (Or Parking Garage)
Having sex in parked cars truly is the all-American pastime. In fact, parking garages and parking lots came in at number two. I'm assuming that's because those are the places cars are — not just that people like the ambiance of a parking lot.

At The Beach
Beaches came in number three for outdoor fun. Which means that a lot of Americans have suffered the same sand-in-all-of-your-places mistake that I have. It's just not worth it, guys.

That's definitely taking a risk. Because it's both public and private, it's one probably the place on this list with the highest potential consequences. They are braver folks than I am.
