Meet Rachel From 'The Bachelor'

by Maitri Suhas

Another year approaches and, with it, another season of The Bachelor. 2017's titular Bach' is Nick Viall, who will start handing out roses to 3o (phew!) women on the night of Monday, Jan. 2. Viall has been on not one but two previous seasons of The Bachelorette and on Bachelor in Paradise, so this very much ain't his first rodeo. Since there are so many contestants this season and it will be tough to keep track of who's who, you can do a little homework beforehand. Many of the women are active on Instagram and the like social media, but one who isn't very active on social media is Bachelor contestant Rachel Lindsay. But, given the few details on her profile on the ABC site, she seems like someone I would want to hang out with.

Lindsay is 31 years old and hails from Dallas, Texas, where she works as a lawyer. (Probably why she's not super public on the web.) Her LinkedIn shows that not only has she been a successful lawyer, she's also done a lot of work in sports law, and even work with a little organization called the NBA. During her time at Marquette University Law School she was a research assistant doing research for the National Sports Law Institute. Before she attended law school, Lindsay was an intern for the NBA, doing marketing, programming, and event coordination for NBA tours.

On her Bachelor bio, she says her biggest regret so far has been focusing too much on her career, which dovetails into her biggest fear: that she's "missed out on [her] chance at finding love." Rachel! You're still so young! I guess that's why you have arrived on The Bachelor.

Who would she want to be for a day? According to her bio, "Michelle Obama. She's everything!" She truly is everything. Lindsay also says that her favorite artist is Jean-Michel Basquiat. Being a woman of multitudes, she also loves Justin Bieber and isn't ashamed of it. And my favorite of her answers is in her response to the question, "Are you afraid of aging, and are you don't anything to prevent it?" She flat out says no, because her mom is 60 and looks amazing.

It's unfortunate that there isn't more in the way of Lindsay's social media presence, because she seems like a super smart, interesting, and very cool contestant. Hopefully, she sticks around long enough for fans to get to know her on the show. You can always follow along with the other contestants' Snapchats if you're in the mood for a little lighthearted reality TV contestant stalking, and you can catch Lindsay and all of the other women on The Bachelor premiere on Monday, Jan. 2.
