The Season 7 premiere of Game Of Thrones depicted something fans have been awaiting for seven seasons — a homecoming for Daenerys Targaryen. The queen finally made landfall at the site of her birth, Dragonstone. Daenerys is now in a position to rule the seven kingdoms. The one catch? There's another queen on the Iron Throne. So, how is Cersei going to react to Dany's encroaching power this season? Will Cersei attack Dragonstone on Game of Thrones?

If we learned anything from Cersei's scene traipsing around a map of her enemies, it's that she is after revenge. Don't let the elegant map in a grand room fool you, that's the Cersei equivalent of that room from A Beautiful Mind with newspaper clippings, red ink, and string. Cersei is obsessed with keeping her power and vanquishing her enemies.

In the telling map scene, Cersei lets it be known that she is gunning for her brother Tyrion and the queen he has aligned himself with, Dany. Jaime Lannister explains to Cersei that Tyrion and Dany will likely make landfall and set up base at Dragonstone. He says that Dany was born there and the castle has been left unoccupied. Jaime, of course, is correct as the episode ends with the significant homecoming for Dany.

While this may not be enough to signal an impending battle, it should also be noted that Cersei is aligning herself with Euron Greyjoy. While Tyrion and Dany have aligned themselves with Yara Greyjoy, Cersei is likely using the other faction for their ships. The clash between Cersei and Dany could lead to a Greyjoy civil war, of sorts.

So, we know Cersei is vengeful. And, we know Cersei is paranoid when it comes to younger queens — because of that prophecy from her girlhood that said a younger queen would be her demise. But, there is no way of predicting what a Cersei attack could look like. Because, that's her M.O.

Cersei isn't one to lead a traditional battle. She fights with fire, literally. Remember the Season 6 finale? While Dragonstone is certainly on Cersei's radar, a clash between queens may not be on the table. Cersei is likely cooking something up like a surprise ambush, a night raid, or something even more savage.

While Cersei's motives are predictable, her delivery is not. And, neither is Dany's defense and counter attack. Cersei may have fire, but Dany's got dragons. With so many powerful rulers seated to the north, south, east, and west, as Cersei pointed out, the series is certainly building to a climactic end. There will likely not just be one battle at Dragonstone, but several attacks and alliances that will finally reveal the winner of the Game Of Thrones. We're in the home stretch, and every play counts.
