Brandi Neal

A Los Angeles-based writer, editor, and storyteller from the Midwest, Brandi is a lifestyle news writer at Bustle covering mental health, career topics, feminism, astrology, lifestyle trends, LGBTQ+, spiritually, and health and wellness. A former daily newspaper reporter and the editor of two anthologies, her work has also been published in "Ignite" magazine, "Coast" magazine (where she is a luxury travel writer), "Portland" magazine, "Teaching Tolerance" magazine, on the lifestyle websites I Am & Co, Lonny, Livingly, and more. In addition, she is the content and social media manager for Radical Candor, the company based on the "New York Times" best-selling book: "Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity" by Kim Scott. Brandi has a BA in journalism from the University of Toledo and an MFA in nonfiction from the University of Southern Maine's Stonecoast MFA program. A 2016 recipient of an Idyllwild Arts fellowship for nonfiction, she has given readings of her work around the world. Her obsessions include all things related to true crime (SSDGM), Stevie Nicks, and Lady Gaga. Some of the stranger things she has done include walking on fire (twice), hiking to the top of an active volcano in the middle of the night, and participating in an impala dung-spitting contest, which is just as gross as it sounds. In a movie of her life, she wants to be played by Stana Katic — if you haven't seen "Absentia" on Amazon, watch it ASAP. Find her on Instagram @ladyfaceblues
