What Does Donald Trump Think Of Carly Fiorina?

by April Siese

Following the first GOP debate, it was clear who had "won" the primetime debate and the pre-debate forum — Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina. Trump has continued to make headlines for his statements at and about the debate. His popularity has stayed consistently strong. Fiorina, meanwhile, saw her numbers substantially rise. As many as 22 percent of viewers felt she was the strongest candidate during the pre-debate forum, according to data from a recent NBC/Survey Monkey poll. Competition is escalating up between the two presidential hopefuls and so is a burgeoning feud. What does Donald Trump think of Carly Fiorina? The Republican front-runner is locked in yet another war of words with a fellow candidate.

Just a short time ago, Trump had positive things to say about Fiorina. He called her performance during the GOP pre-debate "effective" and said she was a good debater. But that last all of a day or two. Soon after, Trump took to Twitter to denounce Fiorina, declaring that her candidacy was hopeless just because of the sound of her voice. Trump tweeted:

I just realized that if you listen to Carly Fiorina for more than ten minutes straight, you develop a massive headache. She has zero chance!

The Donald began lashing out against the former HP CEO after she vocally objected to his comments about Fox News anchor and debate moderator Megyn Kelly. During the debate, Kelly had asked Trump about the disparaging things he has said about women over the years, only for Trump to interrupt her in the middle of her question. He later blasted her on Twitter, then said in an interview that Kelly had blood coming out of her "wherever." Trump's fellow candidates spoke out against his seemingly sexist comments, but none were as vocal as Fiorina. Fiorina tweeted her support for Kelly, saying that she stood with the journalist.

Fiorina highlighted similar experiences during an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN's State of the Union. Fiorina said:

I started out as a secretary. And as I made my way up in the business world — a male-dominated business world — I've had lots of men imply that I was unfit for decision-making because maybe I was having my period... When I started this campaign, I was asked on a national television show whether a woman's hormones prevented her from serving in the Oval Office. My response was, can we think of a single instance in which a man's hormones might have clouded his judgment?

Fiorina has yet to respond to Trump's disparaging tweet. She had plenty to say about him during the GOP pre-forum debate, however, calling out the real estate mogul for his change of heart on such issues as healthcare and immigration.
