5 Ways To Get Booze Delivered To Your Door

An alcohol delivery company is a personal dream of mine, to be honest. Like, the biggest impediment to me having a great Friday night is the act of getting out of my bed and into pants and to a liquor store. I would have so many more parties if I could get away without having to make the dreaded (for me) beer run. But guess what? The microbrewery Riip Beer has an alcohol home delivery service, which makes ordering beer from my bed a sweet, sweet reality.

Or at least, it would be, if I lived in California's Huntington Beach. Alas, I do not — but I still appreciate the fact that the service exists.

Ryan Hopkins co-founded Riip Beer with his brother-in-law in 2014, and with cool kid offerings like Wake’n Bake Coffee Stout and Riipalicious IPA, it's no wonder that the craft beer afficionados quickly upgraded from their garage to a larger warehouse nearby. But there was one problem: The warehouse wasn't zoned for retail purposes. So, like any business-savvy Millennial, the brothers turned to Facebook with a pretty simple announcement: "Hey we're delivering."

The brothers deliver the beer in an original 1930s bread truck, which is just too freaking cute to believe. I'm heartbroken that I can't personally witness it. At least can see it via social media, though, and believe you me, it's not something you're going to want to miss:

But hey, even if I don't live in Southern California, that doesn't mean that my dreams of doorstep deliveries need end, because, with a little digging, I turned up all kinds of alcohol delivery programs. Get your booze on with these four options and never leave home again.

1. Drizly

Available in: Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Hoboken/Jersey City, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New Orleans, New York City, Providence, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington D.C.

Drizly is a well-designed app that offers users a whole slew of beers, along with wine, hard liquor, bags of ice, limes, and even classic mixers like OJ — everything you could possibly need to throw a killer shindig.

2. Amazon Prime

Available in: Seattle, WA and London (for now).

As part of its Prime service, which comes with the hefty price tag of $99/year, Amazon is currently in the midst of a pilot alcohol delivery service that promises alcohol on your doorstep in under an hour. Some dudes over at GeekWire tried it out and their order came in a tight 35 minutes.

3. DrinkFly

Available in: Illinois (Chicago, Bloomington, Evanston), Minnesota (Crystal, St. Paul, Minneapolis), New York (New York City, Brooklyn), Texas (Dallas, Houston).

Another cute app that thankfully works in several non-major cities, DrinkFly partners with local liquor stores to source, price, and ultimately deliver your alcohol.

4. Thirstie

Available in: New York, Jersey City, Hoboken, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New Haven, Austin, and Dallas.

The Thirstie app not only provides top shelf liquor options, but it also provides a community aspect to drinking culture, providing a platform for users to share drink recipes.
