Easy Costume Ideas If You Already Have A Black Wig

by Melanie Richtman

If you are good at coming up with Halloween costumes, I commend you. But if you're anything like me, you put off planning a Halloween costume until a few days before Halloween, and then you're scrambling last minute to pull something together. It happens to me every year, yet I still haven't learned from my mistakes. Luckily, this lack of planning has required me to be pretty creative in the past, so I have some last-minute Halloween costume ideas for you if you have a black wig.

Wigs are one of the best things you can own because it instantly transforms your look. You could basically just throw on a wig and wear your normal clothes and everyone would think that you dressed up for Halloween (I might be exaggerating a tad, but you get the point). Add a tiny bit more effort into putting together your costume, and you're almost guaranteed to look like you put more than a few hours worth of thought into your Halloween costume.

A black wig allows you to be a variety of things for Halloween, from Disney princesses to pop culture icons, so the options are really endless. Here are seven costume ideas if you own a black wig.

1. Kim Kardashian

One of the easiest costumes of them all. Throw on your black wig, a tight dress, some butt padding and practice your duck face, and, voila! You're Kim Kardashian. If you're feeling extra creative and scandalous, you can be Kim Kardashian on the cover of Paper Magazine for Halloween.

2. Jasmine

You were Disney Princesses for Halloween when you were a child, so why not be a Disney Princess now that you're all grown up. Jasmine is a pretty easy costume to throw together if you have a black wig, because all you really need is a blue crop top and some harem pants to really pull it off.

3. Cleopatra

This costume might require that your black wig have bangs, but it's totally up to you. Channel your inner Egyptian queen (or Elizabeth Taylor) and rock a dramatic cat eye, plenty of jewelry and a white dress. Boom, you're Cleopatra.

4. Morticia Addams

This one is an oldie, but a goodie. The Morticia Addams from the Addams Family. Grab that black maxi dress from your closet and apply some goth makeup. One of the easiest Halloween costumes of all time.

5. Kylie Jenner

You can really throw on any wig and be Kylie Jenner, but she has recently been spotted with her long, black hair, so you might as well capitalize on her trendiness and use your black wig to your advantage. Over line your lips, apply some fake lashes, and wear something skintight. Bonus points if you're able to constantly be taking selfies all night.

6. Cher

Cher is known for her long, black hair, so you can easily pay homage to her with your black wig. It's an especially great costume right now because everything Cher wore in the 70s is popular again, so you can pick up everything you need, including some flare jeans, at basically any fast fashion retailer.

7. April Ludgate from Parks and Rec

OK, so her hair isn't completely black, but it's dark enough, and if you have a black wig, you can totally use it to complete your April Ludgate costume. The best part about being April, is that you can basically just wear normal clothes and say sassy things. It's a win-win.
