Bill O'Reilly's GOP Debate Tips Are Actually Great

by Jo Yurcaba

Some of the Republican presidential candidates weren't too happy with the third GOP debate, which CNBC hosted, because they said the questions weren't interesting and the moderators didn't follow the rules they had agreed upon. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal have both agreed to sign a letter to TV networks pushing for debate reform, but they are the only two so far to make such an agreement. Many of the other candidates are refusing to sign it. This week, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about the Republicans complaints. O'Reilly's debate demands for Republican candidates are actually pretty spot on.

GOP candidate and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has refused to sign the complaint letter "because it's stupid," according to Politico. And even President Barack Obama has called some of the Republicans out for whining about the debates. "Have you noticed that everyone of these candidates say, 'Obama's weak. Putin's kicking sand in his face. When I talk to Putin, he's going to straighten out,'" Obama said during a Democratic fundraising event in New York, according to CNN. "Then it turns out they can't handle a bunch of CNBC moderators at the debate. Let me tell you, if you can't handle those guys, then I don't think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you."

And O'Reilly totally agrees. He gave his own harsh but perfect demands for Republican candidates during The Tonight Show.

1. Please, Stop Complaining

O'Reilly said that some Republican candidates are complaining about the debates and saying things like, "You hurt my feelings," according to a YouTube video of the segment:

Come on! You guys are starting to sound like a bunch of Democrats out there.

2. Just Answer The Question

O'Reilly said that Republicans really need to start answering the specific question posed to them. Then, he gave an example. O'Reilly asked Fallon, "What would you do to fix the deep ideological divide in this country?"

Fallon paused for a second, obviously thinking through his answer, and then said, "Pizza party." And what a brilliant idea that is for fixing any kind of disagreement.

3. Keep It Short & Simple

O'Reilly said that both Democrats and Republicans need to wrap it up, because, O'Reilly said, "You're answering a question, not accepting an Oscar." O'Reilly demonstrated again, asking Fallon, "What would be your first act be [as president]?" Fallon kept it simple again with, "Pizza party."

4. Trump, Take It Down, Man

O'Reilly's last, brilliant demand is for one person: Donald Trump. And he said exactly what we were all thinking:

Trump, you gotta take it down, man. You gotta take it down. How about a six, alright? Now, I know it's fun, I know it's fun. But he blew out my TV speakers. If anybody gets to yell that loud on Fox News, it should be me.

But really, wouldn't a pizza party be a small step toward solving the divisiveness in Congress?
