10 Authors Whose Signed Copies You Could Snag

by Emma Cueto

It's the holiday season again, which means lots of gifts to buy and lots of stores putting on special promotions. For Barnes & Noble that means selling specially signed copies by famous authors, which the company first tried out last year. This year, the bookstore chain has teamed up with over 120 authors to each sign more than 4,000 copies of their latest book. And with over 400,000 signed copies in stores nationwide, your chance of scoring one are pretty good — and they also offer 400,000 reasons to hit up a Barnes & Noble on Black Friday.

For the second year in a row, a huge array of authors have demonstrated incredible enthusiasm for participating in Barnes & Noble’s Signed Editions program," Barnes and Noble COO Jaime Carey said in a press release, "And we are thrilled to be bringing back this one-of-a-kind offering on Black Friday. There’s a creative gift awaiting everyone at Barnes & Noble stores and shoppers can delight the readers on their list with a truly meaningful gift — a book made special with a favorite author’s signature.“

So what are some of the authors whose signed work you can expect to find in stores? How about John Green, Drew Barrymore, Isabel Allende, and Mary-Louise Parker, only for starters? There are a lot of awesome authors to choose from, but here are just a few more worth considering.

1. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

2. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

3. Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling

4. The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo

5. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

6. Winter by Marissa Meyer

7. Humans of New York—Stories by Brandon Stanton

8. The Rose Society by Marie Lu

9. The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins

10. My Life On The Road by Gloria Steinem
