Most ladies agree, there are few things more charming than a boy who knows how to treat his mother. Especially when said boy is a man, and he's famous, and incidentally pretty attractive. After all, our predisposition is to believe that all the sexy famous guys we crush on are really good dudes, and when a man is confident enough to stand up and publicly proclaim his love for his mommy, well, it confirms our suspicions that our favorite hotties are beautiful inside and out.

Glossing over my tall-girl fascination with basketball players (6’9” you say? swooooon), LeBron’s consistent appreciation of his mother could give even the most cold hearted LeBron-hater a slight case of the warm and fuzzies. It doesn’t hurt that LeBron chose to appreciate his mom, Gloria James, in a heartfelt essay he wrote to benefit the Shriver Report, an initiative to document women’s lives. LeBron’s support of women’s issues and his inspirational mother are a real slam dunk. Heh.

When Stephen Colbert’s mother died, his tribute to her the week after was so beautiful that it made me cry and call my own mother. He attributes his likability and success to her, which is sweet and give us all hope that someday, maybe we will have kids like Stephen Colbert.

Kanye West is widely known to love his late mother, Donda West, but his song “Hey Mama” really says it all. When he raps, “hey mommy, I’m gon’ love you ‘til you don’t hurt no more,” tell me honestly your heart doesn’t twinge a little. Kanye might be abrasive in a lot of ways, but he was always giving and kind to his mother.
