How To Cope With Fifth Harmony's Major Bombshell

by Tobi Gbile

First One Direction announced their hiatus, and now this? In a recent interview, female powerhouse Fifth Harmony announced some pretty grim news: the band plans to split up in the coming future, and is not afraid to admit it. So, how can fans deal with this dreadful announcement?

The ladies of Fifth Harmony have been busy performing around the world and working on their second album. In a recent interview with EuropaFM while in Madrid, Fifth Harmony gave a lot more than just a performance and an interview. Member Dinah Jane even had a few things to say on her own that had the 5H fans in a frenzy. Things were going fine, and the interviewer was asking the members fan questions. One in particular shook things up, when the group was asked where they see themselves in five years. Dinah Jane's answer is not what you would think...

“We’ve been together for basically three years now and looking back… we’re very, very… happy with where we’re at right now. But from here on out, we wanna hopefully win a couple more awards together… maybe build more music together as well. But I feel like we’ll probably go our separate ways later on. That’s the truth.”

No, we weren't ready! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that this news came as a surprise. The group has been doing so well thanks to chart topping singles like "Worth It" off of their debut, full length album Reflection, and have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with, so it's shocking to figure out that even though they are on top of the world right now, they don't intend on staying in this position forever.

While this is definitely hard news to handle, we fans have to accept the facts: All good things must come to an end. While it might be hard now, there are several things that fans can do to cope with the upsetting fact that their favorite girl group plans on breaking up:

1. Relive The Many Good Moments

It's not a sin to reminisce. Just like Dinah Jane said herself, Fifth Harmony have been together for around three years now, and with those three years have come many good times and successes.

2. Jam To Their Music

Reflection, as well as 5H's first EP, are both bangers. Listening to their music will do nothing but put you in a good mood!

3. Prepare For Their Second Album

New Fifth Harmony music is on the way! Get pumped and stay pumped until its release — from the sound of it, it's going to be a good one. While talking to EuropaFM, member Normani Kordei revealed: "We’ve talked about experiences that we’ve had, like boys and going out and having a good time with your girls, but I feel like it was a bit hype all over the board. There was no vulnerability so I think there is more of a balance this time around. It’s more reflective of who we really are and where we are right now.” We're ready whenever you guys are!

4. Discover New Artists

When you lose something, it opens the door to find something new. I'm not telling you to replace 5H with a new group, but there's no harm in finding what else there is out there! We live in a time where the amount of talented musicians is endless.

5. Binge Watch Their Music Videos And Performances

Dancing along with the group's fierce routines can make you a member of Fifth Harmony for the day.

6. Make A Tribute

While it might be a little bit early to start thinking about this now, putting together a montage of all of the group's highlights can bring back a lot of good memories.

7. Support Them

It's easy to turn a cold shoulder when people upset you, but you have to remember that 5H isn't doing this to hurt their fans! At the end of the day, they have to do what's best for them and their careers, and they'll need to continue to have the support from all of their fans.

No one likes to hear their favorite music group talk about the inevitable end. While this news is hard to grasp, all will be well in the end for Fifth Harmony and their fans. In the meantime, celebrate! 5H's new album will be amazing, and make everyone forget about the future break-up in the first place.
