Kristen Bell's Next Role Is SO Exciting, 'VM' Fans

by Michelle Lulic

Veronica Mars fans: Creator Rob Thomas is not done with Veronica Mars just yet. After the 2014 Veronica Mars movie was successfully kickstarted in 2013, Thomas moved on to his next project: the CW television show iZombie. However, that didn't mean that he was completely walking away from our favorite actors — including Veronica herself, Kristen Bell. After featuring appearances from past actors, including Adam Rose, Ryan Hansen, and more, now it's time for our favorite Veronica Mars actor to appear on iZombie. And, on January 26, 2016, it will all be going down: Kristen Bell will be guesting in iZombie 's eleventh episode of Season 2 titled, "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter" as a voiceover, effectively reuniting her with Thomas.

In an exclusive video that Rose McIver released today through Entertainment Weekly, the iZombie star revealed the exciting news — but not much else. However, I really can't help but hope that the episode really ties in to Veronica Mars. Why? Well, for starters, both characters Veronica and Liv have one thing in common: They're crime-solving badasses.

So, is there a way that these two iconic characters could appear on the screen together? While it may seem strange to you at first, there's something amazing about the thought of Veronica coming in contact with a zombie (whether she knows it or not). And while it was only revealed that Bell will be acting in a voiceover, I can't help but think they're shielding us from the whole truth.

Or... I can at least dream, can't I?

OK, I guess the odds seem to be more out of my favor. After all, Entertainment Weekly described the plot of the upcoming episode as being about when Liv "consumes the brain of a young librarian who was poisoned, and who also happened to secretly be an erotic fiction writer." And since Veronica isn't a young librarian... we know that Liv can't be eating Veronica's brain (phew!). However, the plot may hint that we may be hearing Bell read some erotic fan fiction. Hilarious and, wait... what if it's Veronica Mars fan-fiction she'll be reading?!

Either way, with a connection to Veronica Mars or not, something tells me that hearing Bell do yet another show voiceover (she was the voice of Gossip Girl on The CW's Gossip Girl, after all!) will be nothing less than nostalgic. And I'm always up for some good Veronica Mars nostalgia!

"Fifty Shades of Grey Matter" will be premiering this January.
