2016 Hair Trends That Are Perfect For Lazy Girls

by Miki Hayes

A new year means new trends in store. And as exciting as imagining trying new beauty trends can be, we lazy girls seldom follow through. But 2016 is bringing some hair trends that lazy girls will love, because they're seriously so simple. I mean, let's be honest, we're never going to keep up with trends like hair accessories and jewelry. And maintaining mermaid hues and bob-length styles can be almost as much of a pain as having to get up to tell Netflix that, yes, I do want to continue watching. So if we want to participate in the hair trends of 2016, we're going to need some that require little to no effort. Thank goodness there are six of them.

So don't bother dusting off your curling and flat irons, and you can cancel that standing appointment with your stylist (that you seldom go to anyway). This year, you can go minimal, and still be totally on-trend (with your makeup too, because this must be the year of the lazy girl). I know, I'm pretty pumped. Here are six trends for hair that you can mix and match, and take hardly any time or effort at all.

1. Embracing Natural Color

While mermaid hair will probably still be hot this year, natural hues are making a comeback, and this is a major win for lazy girls. Never needing to bother with dye or touchups ever? I'm game.

2. Embracing Natural Texture

Oh, and air-drying is not only good for your strands but also on-trend. So go ahead and rock those natural waves, curls, and kinks. You won't have to debate whether to bust out the hair tools only to decide you're too lazy to style your hair. You can just commit to not doing anything from the beginning.

3. Statement Parts

Perfect center-parts or severe side-parts will be big in 2016. And switching up a part is simple enough that we lazy girls can participate.

4. Long Lengths

Don't bother trying to maintain a bob, lob, or wob. Length will be just as hot, and remembering to trim a few times during the year is so much simpler than remembering to do it every four to six weeks.

5. Easy Waves

Victoria's Secret-style, bombshell waves can take too much time to achieve. Instead, accomplish simpler waves by just sleeping in braids overnight.

6. Dip-Dyed Tips

If you still want something a little different, try dip-dying. This trend still allows you to play with color without having to worry about touching up roots. Minimum effort for maximum effect.
