Kanye West's 'The Life Of Pablo' Is On Pandora

by Jennifer Still

It feels like we've been talking about Kanye West's new album for years — and in all actuality, we actually sorta have been. His last release, Yeezus, dates back to 2013, so fans (and critics) have been anticipating his next move ever since. For better or worse, the release of The Life Of Pablo is finally upon us, and we actually got to hear the album during the Yeezy 3 event at Madison Square Garden on Thursday when West himself played it to the audience and more than 20 million fans that tuned in to stream the event on TIDAL. But what about now? Short of re-watching the live stream, where can we listen to the album? Thankfully, The Life Of Pablo is streaming on Pandora as of Friday, according to a Pandora spokesperson. Update #2: As of Feb. 13, no results are returned when one searches for The Life of Pablo on Pandora — and the album isn't listed on West's artist page on the site. According to a Pandora spokesperson, the site is still waiting on West to release the album to them.Bustle has reached out to West's camp, but has yet to receive a response. Update #3: As of 1:43 AM ET on Feb. 14, The Life of Pablo appears to be streaming on TIDAL. Those wishing to download the album can purchase it from TIDAL for $20 dollars. The album is, so far, unavailable on iTunes. Update #4: On Monday evening, Kanye tweeted that The Life Of Pablo will only be available on Tidal. He wrote: "My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale... You can only get it on Tidal."

Earlier: Of course, there's one minor catch. You can't listen to the album as a whole, from start to finish; instead, according to Dempsey, the album is available, "The usual way Pandora plays." If you've ever used the service, you know how it works: you type in an artist or a song and a radio station is generated with similar music to create your own personal radio station. That means you'll have to sit through some of Kanye's other hits in order to get to the good stuff, which isn't so bad and will do for now. After all, he does have some great music in his catalog, so why not revisit some of the hits and mix things up a bit?

Another thing to consider is that the fact that Pandora will be streaming the entirety of The Life Of Pablo could mean that iTunes, Tidal, and Amazon releases of the album will likely be available soon, too, as well as other digital music services. While no official release date has been set, given that we've heard the whole thing now, it's clearly done and ready to go — it's just a matter of waiting for it to hit these outlets so that we can get streaming/purchasing. Here's hoping that happens soon, because I think we're all getting more than a little impatient.

In the meantime, it's good to know that at least Pandora will mix in some tracks from The Life Of Pablo, and if we listen long enough, we might even get to hear the whole album, albeit out of order and not all at once. If you're a Kanye West fan, however, the ability to do even that will probably be more than enough for now.

Update #1: On Friday morning, West tweeted:

It's coming! It's just a matter of where now, not when.
