Todd Palin Is Injured In An Accident — REPORT

Former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's husband Todd was in a serious snowmobile accident Sunday night, NBC News reports. The oil field operator and commercial fisherman is currently in intensive care at an Alaska hospital. His wife plans to fly back to Alaska from Florida on Monday, where she was campaigning for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump before the state's primary election Tuesday. One campaign event was canceled because of the news, but NBC News reports Sarah would still attend a town hall in Tampa before flying home.

"The event scheduled for Governor Sarah Palin to take place today in The Villages, Florida at 12:00 PM, has been cancelled," an early statement from the Trump campaign reads. "Governor Palin wishes her best to Mr. Trump in the upcoming primaries." The Trump campaign released another statement about the event cancellation saying the former Alaska governor looks forward to rejoining the campaign soon. "Mr. Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time," it says. Sarah Palin endorsed the businessman in January and has been helping out on the campaign trail since then, but the statement gave the impression that she would take a break for a while to look after her husband.

The details of Todd's accident have not been released yet — only that he's in serous condition.

The Palins' son, Track, is also due in court Monday for a pretrial conference regarding a January arrest. Track, 26, was charged for a domestic violence assault on a woman, interfering with her ability to report a crime of domestic violence, and possessing a firearm while intoxicated.

The canceled Trump event comes just two days after the Republican candidate called off a campaign rally in Chicago because hundreds of protesters entered the venue. Protesters and Trump supporters ended up in fights that resulted in five arrests and two injured police officers. With five states, including Illinois and Florida, holding primary elections Tuesday, the multiple cancelled campaign events come at a very inopportune time for Trump.
