Hollywood Vampires Will Go On Tour This Summer

by Kristie Rohwedder

Sometimes, special things happen. And this happens to be one of those times: According to Rolling Stone, the Hollywood Vampires will go on their first North American tour this summer. The supergroup comprised of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry will kick off the 18-date adventure at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York on May 24, and the trio will be joined by Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, guitarist Tommy Henriksen of the Alice Cooper band, multi-instrumentalist Bruce Witkin, and Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo. You can buy tickets over on the Hollywood Vampires website.

"Here is a gang of friends who came together really by chance and over the last year we were finally able to wrangle our schedules and the energy just fell into place," Perry said in a statement. "Playing with this lineup is like a dream come true."

Cooper, Depp, and Perry formed Hollywood Vampires in 2015 and released their first studio album in September of that year. The band, which was named after Cooper's drinking club from the '70s, made their television debut at the 58th Grammy Awards with a tribute to Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister.

So, what can audiences expect from this tour? (You know, aside from being in the presence of a bunch of bonafide legends.) Erm, ringing eardrums... ? Yeah, yeah, I realize that is something only the squarest Lameasaurus Rex would say, but something tells me this show will be loud. And hey, that's how it should be. If the show wasn't loud, it'd be a bust. Just look at that band's roster! What a bunch of rock and roll deities! If anyone knew where to get amplifiers that went to 11, it'd be these guys!
