How To Watch 'The Bachelor' & The Olympics

by Lia Beck

There is such a thing as people who want to watch both The Bachelor and the Olympics Monday night and because we're looking out for those very particular television fans, we have developed a guide for how to watch both at the same time. Of course, you could DVR The Bachelor and stick to the Olympics, but the truth is there are certain parts of The Bachelor that aren't worth watching. The same thing goes for Olympic coverage. Why watch all of the bobsled heats, when you can just tune into the important ones?

Tonight The Bachelor continues with Juan Pablo Galavis and the six remaining ladies heading to Miami. We already know a few things that are going to go down like Sharleen deciding whether or not to walk off the show and Clare and Nikki bringing the dramz again. On the Olympics tonight, we know that there will be Ice Dancing, freestyle skiing, and the two-man bobsled. Here is what to do between 8 and 10 p.m. tonight so you don't miss any highlights.

Start with the Olympics. Bob Costas and his hipster glasses are returning and you'll want to see if he still has his eye infection. The first ten minutes of The Bachelor are always a preview of what's to come and the girls freaking out about who's going to get the first individual date anyway.

Around 8:25 p.m., switch to The Bachelor. You can catch the end of the first individual date and that's the only part that matters. One of the women will talk about a sad moment from her family's past and Juan Pablo will not listen and just kiss her instead.

It's back to the Olympics after this. You'll need to get a feel for the order in which the events will take place. Ice dancing is important as America is likely to medal. Bobsled is entertaining because you can argue about whether or not they're athletes. Men's Aerials freestyle skiing is cool being they do crazy jumps through the air on skis. It's nuts. The best stuff will probably happen towards the end of the broadcast which is great because while The Bachelor ends at 10 p.m., the Olympics ends at 11:30 p.m.

Watch The Bachelor when the women are at the Rose Ceremony cocktail party. That is always where the drama happens. Sharleen's reveal will probably happen during this time and the Clare/Nikki drama will likely come to a head. This will be around 10:30 p.m. Watching the actual Rose Ceremony is not necessary because Chelsie will be the one getting kicked off.

After that you're in the clear! If you can handle still starring at a screen after watching six women woo the same man by speaking bad Spanish, then enjoy finding out who wins gold and watching Bob Costas' glasses interview the winners.
