Drake Skipped The 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Drake has been having quite the month, from releasing Views to shocking us all by shaving his beard. The singer and rapper is always keeping us on our toes, and sadly, that meant that Drake wasn't at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. I'm gonna need to listen to a Drake song to recover from this.

Champagne Papi may not be known for his sense of style, but we appreciate it nonetheless. When your lyrics are that good, anything can be excused. So good, in fact, that a friend of mine has dedicated the entirety of 2016 to captioning all of his Instagrams with Drake lyrics. But with so many one-liners that makes us feel all the feels, this certainly won't be a hard challenge.

While now, when I think of Aubrey, I picture him in his "Hotline Bling" attire, chunky sweater, Timberlands, sweatpants, and all, he actually has a pretty impressive repertoire of looks. Comme des Garçons, Missoni, Supreme, and Jil Sander are just a few of the fashion names you can find in his closet. He's got the style to match his smooth voice, and for that, we're thankful, Jimmy.

Tonight at the Billboard Music Awards, I was hoping to see him flex his easy going style and that smile that kills us all. Looking at his Instagram, it seems as if Champagne Papi was at an appearance last night in Vegas. He had places to be, people to see. Exes to miss.

I would have died to see this happen tonight, but alas...

Looking at the list of nominees, Drake is pretty much killing it, with 11 under his belt, including Top Streaming Song, Top Rap Song, Top Rap Album, and Top Rap Artist. I have no doubt he'll snag a few tonight. And until then — I'll just be jamming to Views until my ears bleed and picturing what he would have worn tonight.
