Glossier's Makeup Is Coming Back

Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics and Jeffree Star Cosmetics are not the sole maj makeup brand expansions of 2016. Glossier's makeup and skincare collection is right up there, in terms of hype, mania, rapid growth, and devotees. The brand, with its minimalist packaging and its simple but superb formulations, often deals with the blessing and the curse that is sold out digital shelves. Many of the Glossier Phase 2 makeup products, like the buildable, skin-mimicking Stretch Concealer, which is part of my AM routine, as well as the Generation G lipsticks, are sold out. Customers clamor for the products and respond with their dollars, so that's a success. Yet there are frustrated fans who want to shop... but can't. Glossier has responded to this digital dilemma, explaining why it takes so long to replenish the supply and even shared restock dates. When will Glossier concealer and lipsticks be restocked?

If you want these Glossier products so bad that it hurts, I have great news. Stretch and all four shades of the Gen G lippies will be restocked in July. Glossier will also refresh the supply of the Light and Medium shades of the Perfecting Skin Tint, which is super light, barely there, and lets skin breathe, shortly thereafter.

The Generation G lipsticks are aces because they are pigmented, moisturizing, and matte. That's a desirable trio of qualities for lipsticks, IMO.

Personally, I have incorporated the Stretch Concealer into my daily routine. While the product isn't "heavy duty" in terms of formula and texture, I love that you can use a little or a lot, depending on your skin's needs. I like that it's not cakey and that it's breathable.

Glossier also shared info, in polite fashion, about why the products are sold out and why they take a minute to restock. Essentially, demand exceeded supply. The brand explained on the Into The Gloss site that "the short answer is this: there's been an overwhelming demand that's led to us selling through almost 12 months worth of products in the first three months of this year."

Translation? Fans showed up in droves and drained the entire supply. That's a good problem to have.

Glossier also revealed why the restocks are infrequent, posting, "The truth is, beauty products take a crazy long time to make." That's the long and short of it. Quality and sourcing of ingredients takes time.

Mark those calendars for the July restock of the Stretch Concealer and Generation G lipsticks.
