Taylor Skipped The 2016 Billboard Music Awards

Tay Tay fans will have to wait for another night to see their favorite pop star, as it turns out Taylor Swift missed the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. But don't get too up in arms — Taylor had an extremely good reasons for missing out on the evening's festivities. Boyfriend Calvin Harris was in a car accident over the weekend, and while he'll reportedly be fine, it makes sense that the star would stay home to spend time with her honey in his time of need.

And while I totally get that Taylor needed to sit this one out, it doesn't mean I'm not super disappointed to be missing out on what would have in all likelihood been an amazing red carpet look — especially considering that Taylor surprised everyone just a few weeks ago at the Met Gala Ball with a fierce platinum blonde bob.

Not to mention she has a history of stunning BBMA ensembles. Last year she utterly and totally blew viewers away in a 1970s-inspired white cut-out jump suit — with glittering sequence of course.

And Tay Tay's not just missing out on a fashion opportunity; she's been nominated for eight BMMAs, including Top Artist this year.

So let's hope Calvin gets better soon, and also that it won't be too long before we get to see more of our favorite girl-next-door-turned-platinum goddess!
