Trevor Noah Thinks Trump Is 'Crazy Dangerous'

by Alexi McCammond

Even though Tuesday was Donald Trump's 70th birthday, the real estate mogul wasn't safe from late-night TV show criticism. On the June 14 episode of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah slammed Trump for his response to the Orlando shooting, calling him "crazy dangerous."

In classic Trump form, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee somehow tried to blame Obama for the Orlando shooting during a recent appearance on Fox & Friends. "Look, we’re led by a man that either is, is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,” Trump said. "People cannot — they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the ways he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable.”

Trump's history of focusing on Obama's heritage, speculating that he's Muslim, stretches back years, so this is nothing new. However, what's truly inconceivable is that Trump would suggest that Obama cares less about the Orlando shooting because of his supposed Muslim background. Rather than focusing on how to help the people of Orlando or how to approach gun control reform, Trump resorted to his petty antics of blaming Obama. But Noah was not having it.

“Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, is saying the president of the United States is a secret agent for ISIS. He’s accusing Obama of treason. If ever there was a way you know that President Obama is not an African president, this is it, because if you pulled this shit in Africa, we would not know where Donald Trump is right now,” Noah said.

Noah's reaction to Trump's utterly absurd comments was likely what many of his viewers were feeling, too. Trump doesn't have to agree with Obama — he doesn't even have to like him! — but to suggest that Obama has "something else in mind" when it comes to dealing with a domestic terrorist attack is completely out of line.

Unlike Clinton, whom Noah said responded to the Orlando shooting with "signs of compassion, resolve and restraint,” Trump's response was filled with “paranoia and late-stage jaundice.”

And then Noah hit Trump the hardest, saying what we've all been thinking all along: “Let’s cut the crap. This guy is f*cking crazy dangerous. He’s not trying to move America forward. He spent most of his speech lying and laying out his plan to turn America on itself.”

Here's hoping we wake up in November and Trump reveals his entire campaign was just a silly joke this whole time. Now that would be a great segment for The Daily Show.
