by Emily Shire

On Thursday afternoon, after more than 24 hours, House Democrats ended their gun control sit-in. They exited the floor and joined supporters outside, singing "We Shall Overcome." They also promised to continue holding events to keep the focus on gun control during the recess, both in the House and their districts, according to the Washington Post. House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said, “Now we have to take the actions which will enable us to meet our goal, which is to win the vote."
