These 'Ghostbusters' Cameos Are Amazing

The time has come, my ghostbustin' friends: the new movie, starring the dream team of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, has finally arrived. The new Ghostbusters has been one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2016, so many fans are breathing big sighs of relief now that it's actually in theaters. Those who loved the original '80s movies will be happy to know that the new Ghostbusters, in addition to just being pure fun, is a nostalgic ode to the first franchise, featuring memorable quotes, iconic sights, and, of course, appearances by celebrities. Yes, the celeb cameos in Ghostbusters are absolute perfection, and fans of the first movies will be thrilled to see so many familiar faces in this reboot.

While some of the celebrities who appear in the new Ghostbusters are actors who starred in the original movie, others are just A-listers who seem to be relishing the opportunity to take part in such an exciting reboot. From Bill Murray to Ozzy Osbourne (yes, really), here are the 12 biggest cameos in the new Ghostbusters — but please be warned that there are some pretty big spoilers ahead, so don't read on unless you want to know lots of details about the brand-new movie.

Bill Murray

Murray shows up as Martin Heiss, a paranormal debunker (aka a guy out to prove that the Ghostbusters aren't for real) who gets a big, deadly surprise when he learns that the ladies have, in fact, actually trapped a ghost.

Dan Aykroyd

Another original Ghostbuster, Aykroyd briefly shows up as a cab driver.

Ernie Hudson

The last surviving original Ghostbuster (Harold Ramis passed away in 2014) to appear in the film, Hudson cameos at the end as the uncle to Leslie Jones' character, Patty, a funeral director whose hearse the women use as their ghostbustin' vehicle.

Sigourney Weaver

Another star of the original movies, Weaver makes a quick, hilarious appearance as Rebecca Gorin, the eccentric mentor to Kate McKinnon's Holtzmann.

Annie Potts

Potts, who played Janine in the originals, has a fun cameo as a desk clerk the women encounter late in the movie.

Al Roker

Roker plays himself, reporting on the news of the ghosts taking over NYC.

Pat Kiernan

Kiernan, too, plays a version of himself, as an NY1 news anchor reporting on the city's events.

Cecily Strong

Saturday Night Live favorite Strong has a small role as Jennifer Lynch, a government official who wants the Ghostbusters to keep quiet about their discoveries, in order to keep the city from exploding into chaos.

Steve Higgins

Another SNL star, Higgins plays the Dean at the university where Holtzmann and Abby (McCarthy) have their lab.

Dave Allen

Allen (left), best known for Freaks and Geeks, has cameo-ed in many Paul Feig and Judd Apatow movies, and so it's no surprise that he shows up briefly as a ghost who ends up electrocuted in Ghostbusters.

Ozzy Osbourne

The legendary musician plays himself, appearing at a concert and quipping, upon seeing ghosts, that he thinks he's having a flashback.

Katie Dippold

Dippold, the writer behind Ghostbusters and The Heat, cameos in her own movie as a real estate agent who gets the ladies their headquarters.
