It has been a year of maj makeup collabs on all levels, from up 'n' coming digital influencers to established style icons. Get ready to blend it like Beckham, since Victoria Beckham and Estee Lauder are collaborating on a makeup collection. The designer certainly has earned "icon" status, from her signature look to her fashion brand, so this makes all sorts of sense. Estee Lauder shared a sneak peek of the range, which is sleek, chic, classic and classy, like Beckham. Don't expect trendy products or shades — the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Collection is a grown up makeup mashup. What's in the limited edition Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder line?
The Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Collection boasts chic neutrals and necessary basics. Beckham told Women's Wear Daily that VB x EL is comprised of "must-have items that I felt everybody should have in their makeup bag, things that are really quite difficult to find because I know, I've searched." Therefore, the products are beautiful, utilitarian, and edited by Beckham.
The glossy, black and gold packaging is as stunning as what's inside.
The 15-piece collection will be available on EsteeLauder.com and VictoriaBeckham.com, as well as via Bergdorf's and Selfridges, on September 13.
Observe the first look at the VB x EL collection, which is mainly lips-and-eyes-focused, below.
Everything, from the presentation to the pigments, is utterly lovely and unconcerned with trends. Here's the rundown, per WWD. There is the Morning Aura Illuminating Creme and a portable mirror with a flattering light, which makes application easier. There is also a nude x matte lip pencil, metal finish eyeshadows, liquid eye foils, a light-reflecting eyeshadow palette, a bronzer for contouring, highlighter, lipstick, and the Eye Ink pressed gel x cream eyeliner designed to be used wet or dry, among other things.
OMG, you guys! All of my dreams just came true re: the Eye Ink.
Regarding Eye Ink, which is the product I can't wait to get my hands on, Beckham told WWD, "It's hard to find the right black eyeliner that's thick and sooty enough, and looks great the longer it's worn, something that's easy to apply, use at home, and [to] get that really cool fashion editorial runway look as well." Um, Posh is soooo speaking my liner lingo right there.
If you dig Beckham's signature smudgy, smoky eye x nude lip x dewy skin look, you can totally replicate it with her products
According to WWD, Beckham also managed to get the brand to resurrect its Modern Mercury highlighter for this range. The collab also includes the Victoria Beckham Collection Daylight Edition, which is features a lighted mirror that can be removed, as well as eight of the products.
If it's upscale, everyday use products you seek, the VB x EL collection has plenty of options for you. Posh's look is sexy but wearable and you can copy it with her range.
BTW, remember when Beckham partnered with Nails Inc. back in the day?
Expect to see more from VB x EL in the coming days.
