Luann & Tom Are Working It Out After 'RHONY'

The Season 8 finale of Real Housewives Of New York was really nothing short of explosive. Bethenny Frankel finally revealed to Luann de Lesseps that Tom D’Agostino, Luann’s fiancé, had allegedly kissed another woman just days before their engagement party. Luann was understandably upset when Bethanny showed photos of Tom allegedly kissing the woman (only the back of a man's head was visible in the picture), and most of the episode showed the women talking about the alleged make-out session. But, are Luann and Tom still together after their Real Housewives Of New York drama?

Looks like it. Luann was in Miami when she heard these claims, and she met up with Tom when they got back to New York. He never flat-out denied it — he said he didn’t remember, and then he said to Luann on the phone, “It’ll never happen again.” He and Luann did an interview with People soon afterward in which Tom said, “If I could take it back, I would. I deeply regret the mistakes I've made, and most of all hate the way it hurt Luann."

On the show, Luann basically told all of the other Housewives to never speak of it or her relationship with Tom again because she'd moved past any issues.

The season finale was filmed sometime around February or March of 2016, and nothing has changed in Luann’s life. She and Tom are still together, and she recently told People, "I'm not going to let a stupid kiss ruin the rest of my life. He screwed up. What he did was wrong. But this wasn't premeditated," she claimed. "It wasn't an affair. It was a mistake. He was upset with me. It was a stupid retaliation of some sort. He did the wrong thing, and he totally recognizes that. I know in my heart of hearts that he loves me."

I’m not really sure why Luann has to justify things by saying it was allegedly a retaliation — mature people in mature relationships do of course make mistakes, but, if you get in a fight with your partner, it doesn’t give you a free pass to allegedly make out with someone in a bar. The other women on the show echoed that sentiment.

Luann seems content to shoot the messenger, though. When asked in another People interview if the other Housewives would be invited to her wedding, Luann said, "It's hard to invite people that tried to do you harm.” Anyone who watched the episode could tell that Bethenny wasn’t dancing in glee upon talking to Luann about this. I abhor when woman blame other women for a partner’s alleged infidelities. Delivering claims like these can't be easy in any way, so Bethenny shouldn’t be punished for being the medium of information.

So, what now? The wedding is still on, and Luann and Tom are continuing their coupledom. But, to quote Luann’s own words in her People interview, "Obviously, if it happens again, I would have a serious problem with that. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”
