You Need This Book For Your 'HP' Collection

by Emma Oulton

Make room on your dedicated Harry Potter bookshelf (we all have one, right?). The Fantastic Beasts screenplay cover has been revealed — and I can guarantee you're going to want it on display. Harry Potter fans have had a lot of chances to add to their collection this year — from the Cursed Child script to the upcoming Pottermore Presents series — and J.K. Rowling shows no signs of slowing any time soon.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is significant for being J.K. Rowling's screenwriting debut, which sets it apart from The Cursed Child, which wasn't actually written by Rowling herself. It's also different from the 2001 Fantastic Beasts textbook, which Rowling released under the name Newt Scamander. This is something brand new: an official prequel to the Harry Potter series, written in our beloved J.K.'s hand.

The book will be released on November 19, the day after the movie hits theaters. Seeing the Fantastic Beasts film is a much more achievable goal than getting tickets for the Cursed Child play, so there's less of a reason to spoil yourself with the paper version first — but if you simply can't wait, I totally support racing through the screenplay the second it hits bookstores. Personally, I intend to see the movie first and then buy the screenplay immediately afterwards so I can relive the magic all over again.

And most importantly, there's just no way I could resist showing off this gorgeous cover on my bookcase.

Look how golden and shiny it is! The Fantastic Beasts book cover is reason alone to shell out $14.99 for a copy, don't you think? Thought so. I'll see you at the bookstore on November 19!
