Chelsea Clinton Is At The Presidential Debate

The first presidential debate between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump finally takes place on Monday, and it looks like someone special will reportedly be in the audience at Hofstra University supporting Clinton. America's ultimate First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton, will be at the first presidential debate as part of her duties for her mother's campaign, a spokesperson for Chelsea told ABC News.

Chelsea has been a fixture in her parents' political lives since 1992 — the year her father, Bill Clinton, became the president of the United States — so it's no surprise that she will have a front-row seat at Monday night's debate. The former first daughter has also been an integral part of her mother's 2016 campaign, and is expected to take an even larger role over the next two months.

Following Monday's debate, the Clinton campaign will roll out a "campaign blitz" of sorts using its top surrogates, Chelsea among them. According to Bloomberg Politics, the Clinton campaign will send Chelsea to stump in North Carolina on Wednesday, and then Wisconsin on Friday. Bill, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Clinton's running mate, Tim Kaine, will also reportedly be sent to various states across the country to stump for the campaign.

Monday night's debate will mark the first time Clinton and Trump face each other on the national stage. Already, the event is tense, with both campaigns teasing each other with their audience invitees. The Clinton campaign invited Mark Cuban, an anti-Trump advocate, to the debate, giving him a front-row seat. Trump responded to this by threatening to invite Gennifer Flowers, who reportedly had a affair with Bill Clinton prior to his presidency. "If dopey Mark Cuban of failed Benefactor fame wants to sit in the front row, perhaps I will put Gennifer Flowers right alongside of him!" Trump tweeted Saturday. Flowers responded to Trump on Saturday, accepting his invitation and saying she'd be in his corner. However, Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, claimed on Sunday that she would not be at the debate.

The first 2016 presidential debate airs Monday night on all the major news networks and Spanish-language channels. Lester Holt of NBC Nightly News will moderate, and Chelsea will be there to see her mother debate for the presidency.
