Kate Hudson's Latest Project is Awesome

My grandmother taught me that the virtues of the Little Black Dress are many: You can dress it up. You can dress it down. You can wear it anywhere. Although I know she's right, I've never found the perfect LBD. That may be changing soon, though, because Kate Hudson and label Ann Taylor have teamed up to create the Little Black Dresses of our dreams.

Ann Taylor announced its collaboration with Kate Hudson, who has been the face of the brand since 2012, earlier this week. The actress worked with the brand to deliver a capsule collection of five LBDs, which will be sold in Ann Taylor stores this spring. This is the second time Hudson has designed for the label. Of the dresses in the new collection, she said, "We designed them to fit how we all live — so there's something for every occasion and everyone." And from the promotional photos, it looks like they succeeded.

The LBD, however versatile, can get a little boring. The Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor options are promising because they keep things interesting and don't force you to rely too much on styling to create a look. An asymmetrical jersey with a slit up to here, a backless lace mini... but not like, boring lace — cool lace.

You'll have to wait until April 10th to see (and get your hands on) the full collection, but here are the first two styles to whet your appetite.
