Steve Jobs, Played By Batman?

by Anna Klassen

David Fincher gets what David Fincher wants. At least he should. The Social Network director has been in talks to direct a Steve Jobs biopic, which centers around three key keynote addresses in Jobs’ life, but there is one caveat. David Fincher will only direct the Steve Jobs biopic if Christian Bale stars. And that's a tall order.

The yet-to-be-named film was written by Aaron Sorkin for Sony, and is being produced by Scott Rudin and Mark Gordon. Fincher recently met with Sony's Amy Pascal to discuss directing the film, and according to The Wrap, told her it could only happen if the Batman Begins actor was attached as Jobs. The Wrap reports that Fincher and Pascal had a tense relationship working together on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but anyone who's seen the film knows, whatever "tension" ensued still created a phenomenal feature. We can only imagine the magic that would be Academy Award nominee Christian Bale and the Fight Club director collaborating on the same picture.

While it would be a massive departure from the black-liner and bat-mobiles of the Batman franchise, and an even bigger stretch from the potbelly of American Hustle, Bale's resemblance to the late Apple founder is uncanny. But apparently, the man in question has yet to be approached with an offer.
