How To Be The Snapchat Dog For Halloween

by Chelsey Grasso

The Snapchat dog — we all know him, and we all love him, so why not be him for Halloween? These three quick and easy Snapchat dog Halloween costume ideas make transforming yourself into the famous Snapchat pup quick, easy, and fun for anyone who is interested in slobbering their way into the Halloween costume hall of fame.

There are a few different approaches you can choose when it comes to turning yourself into one of the two Snapchat dogs (don't forget about the Dalmatian!). You can do it with some face paint or makeup, you can do it with cardboard cutouts, and you can do it with a traditional dog costume. Or, if you really want to go above and beyond, you can do it with all three! (You know who you are, you obsessive Halloween costume fans — and just so you know, you really make Halloween fun for the rest of us. Keep going strong.)

It's time to put down your phone and pick up your materials. You can spend all day, every day being a virtual dog on Snapchat, but you can only spend one day a year dressed up as an actual Snapchat dog in real life. Take advantage.

1. Use a makeup tutorial.

It's amazing what a little bit of makeup is capable of doing... like in this case, turning your face into that of our favorite Snapchat dog. Eyedolize Makeup has perfected the puppy dog look, and she even offers up two stellar tutorials for creating each of the Snapchat dogs. If you and your bestie are looking for a coordinating costume, you really can't go wrong with this one.

2. Print out your costume.

You can actually purchase the beloved Snapchat dog features printed onto a vinyl surface if you're planning far enough in advance. If you're not, don't worry. Ruby Qnn teaches you how to make your own cardboard features in her YouTube tutorial below. The best part? It takes less than five minutes!

Make sure you glue the tongue onto a wooden popsicle stick or something similar so that you can easily pose with it in all of your Halloween photos. Yeah, it's pretty much the best prop ever.

3. Go the traditional dog costume route.

If you really want to go above and beyond, you can combine one or both of the above tutorials with an actual full-body dog costume. If you don't feel like shelling out the cash for a pre-made dog costume, then throw on some brown leggings, a brown turtle neck, and pick up the individual ears, tail, and nose accessories at any traditional costume store.
