Two Series Regulars Are Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'

by Mallory Schlossberg

Looks like there will be some big changes for your favorite medical drama. Gaius Charles and Tessa Ferrer are set to leave Grey's Anatomy . The two regulars on the series apparently did not have their contract renewed for the shows upcoming eleventh season, while stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey did.

The two joined on last season as interns, and got promoted to series regulars for this season. In their time on the show, both characters were involved in their own romantic trysts (as it goes on Grey's — everybody's gotta be involved somehow), which can potentially be a way to oust the characters. If one person brings a more prominent character tears, write 'em out, right?

Ferrer's sexually fluid Leah Murphy was involved with both Alex (Justin Chambers) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), who's now married to Callie (Sara Ramirez). Complicated stuff, but when it comes to the matters of the heart, that's how we do it at Grey Sloan Memorial! Charles's Shane Ross had a thing with both Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and Christina Yang (Sandra Oh), who also will be departing the series after this season.

SO MUCH ROMANCE DRAMA... but this is why we keep watching, right? At Grey Sloan, sure, folks deal with matters of the actual muscular organ the heart, but what we're really watching for is the romantic stuff.
