Adele's Son Gives Her The Best Homecoming Gift

by Maitri Suhas

There were plenty of memorable and adorable moments from Adele's epic world tour, which she just wrapped the first two legs of after an astounding 107 shows. (Only left now is her eight scheduled shows in Australia and New Zealand starting in late February.) There was the rogue bat joining her onstage that sent her into a very entertaining panic at her show in Mexico City; the time she pulled a couple onstage and invited herself to their wedding; and her tribute to Amy Winehouse on what would have been the late singer's 33rd birthday. But the sweetest moment comes at the very end from her son, Angelo. On Monday night, Adele returned home from her tour, and shared a photo of a homecoming banner from her son on Instagram. "Mummy, you did it!" it reads, because lest you forget, they are very, very British.

"I just finished my 107 shows in 10 months. 100% live every night. I bloody smashed it, even if I do say so myself," the 28-year-old singer wrote. "You lot have been incredible, every night you've been so beautiful, loving and engaged. My band and my crew you made the whole thing turn. And my beautiful family made it easy for me to do." Her heartfelt caption matches her son's very heartfelt gift: a vibrant banner with some very impressive lettering for a 4-year-old (although surely Angelo had some help from dad, Simon Konecki).

If you love Adele, then you're indebted to her son Angelo. The singer said in her cover interview with Rolling Stone last November that having her son was the reason she came back to music after a long hiatus. She said life felt out of control in 2012 after the success of 21 and recovering from vocal chord surgery, and she felt a lot of fear until Angelo was born. "When I had him, it made everything all right, and I trusted everything because the world had given me this miracle... I don't know if I would've come back had I not had my kid."

And on Monday night, as she wrapped her tour in Phoenix, AZ, she triumphantly surprised the crowd, telling them she was "off to have a baby." If Angelo is any indication, that means a new baby for Adele, and an amazing new album for her fans.
