Everything Obama Can't Do With His Cell Phone

by Samantha Sabin

Even the President of the United States can't have it all. He may be the most powerful man in America, but President Obama can't play Angry Birds, send a Snapchat, or Instagram on his BlackBerry. Of course, he probably doesn't have time to do any of that, but what is he going to do now during his long flights on Air Force One? Read a book? Weird.

Retired NSA director Richard "Dickie" George, the man in charge of the president's BlackBerry, told CNNMoney that they'd had to remove any sort of functionality that wasn't absolutely necessary from Obama's phone for security reasons. "Every piece of functionality is an opportunity for the adversary," George told CNNMoney. Sorry, Obama. But we guess that's the price you have to pay for running the United States, or something like that.

What would Obama do with his smartphone if he weren't President, though? Would he even have a Blackberry? Or would he join Team iPhone? Here are the five applications Obama probably would love if he were allowed to download them.

1. Snapchat

There's no denying it — Obama loves selfies. Now, obviously, he wouldn't use Snapchat in the same creepy way that those pesky teenagers use it, but it's not hard to picture him taking selfies with Vice President Joe Biden. Go ahead, think about it. It's perfect.

2. Twitter

Twitter just isn't the same on your computer screen. Sure, Obama has people who Tweet for him, but perhaps re-writing his thoughts so they fit in 140 characters would be one of Obama's favorite challenges.

3. Instagram

Again, think about those selfies. Or imagine the photos he would post on his own of his trip to China or Russia. Imagine the sass that would accompany those posts. It would be a beautiful, flawless account.

4. Angry Birds

Even presidents need to relieve some stress and relax, and Angry Birds is one of the best ways to do that. While he's flying or driving to his next destination, Obama could just pull out his phone and play whenever.

5. Flappy Bird

Just like everyone else with a smartphone, Obama would go crazy over Flappy Bird. And if he had access to this game, we all know that it would have never been pulled from the App Store.

Or maybe, he would like the game's Russian knock-off better: Vladdy Bird. It only seems appropriate.
