Andy Samberg Is Worried About Tracy Morgan, Too

by Alanna Bennett

The world was shocked to hear Saturday that comedian and 30 Rock star was in critical condition after a car accident that killed one and injured four, including Morgan. Family, friends, and fans alike are all understandably concerned. Among them is Andy Samberg, who starred with Morgan on SNL and spoke to Us Weekly Sunday about the tragedy. It turns out he's just as in the dark as the rest of us:

I know as much as you do. But it's terrifying, and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. We all hope he makes it through. It's awful. We're just holding our breath.

Awful indeed. The crash killed James McNair, 63, who performed as a comedian under the name Jimmy Mack. He was one of Morgan's comedy writers and a close friend to Morgan, and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was known as "Uncle Jimmy Mack" in comedy circles.

As for Morgan, he remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Memorial Hospital. Our hearts go out to McNair's family and friends and our hopes go out to Morgan's. A statement released by the family said that "[Morgan's] family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available."
