Meet Your New Sci-Fi Style Icon

If you're a science fiction fan or happened to catch the ill-fated Canadian series Instant Star back in 2004, chances are you recognize Laura Vandervoort. After appearing in a number of cancelled television shows ranging from Smallville to V, Vandervoort is back in the public eye thanks to a little television series called Bitten, which shares more than a few commonalities with The Vampire Diaries.

Regardless of her attachment to more sci-fi and teen drama shows than I realized existed on Canadian television, Vandervoort has a unique way of making a statement on the red carpet. You will rarely catch the actress in an ensemble which is less than eye-catching, exquisitely fitted, and just a bit provocative. For her latest red carpet moment at the MuchMusic Video Awards, Vandervoort chose yet another challenging ensemble which she somehow managed to pull off with aplomb. The actress selected a pastel blue sequined minidress by the brand The 2nd Skin, and paired the look with pointy toe metallic heels, a chic clutch, and an understated smoky eye.
