James McAvoy for Prada? Yes, Please

by Rosie Narasaki

Boy, Prada sure knows how to choose a male model. I mean, last year brought us a campaign featuring Christoph Waltz (!!!), Ben Whishaw and Ezra Miller, and I still haven't gotten over it. And now... now, for their Prada Men Fall/Winter 2014 campaign they have chosen none other than James McAvoy.

The ad campaign has just begun, and already it's going going swimmingly — the first photo was recently released, and it's gorgeous in just about every way possible. Shot in black and white by famous/infamous fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz, the image features a moody McAvoy bracing himself against the wind as he strolls on a concrete embankment on a rocky English beach — impeccably dressed from head to toe in Prada, of course.

Hot off of his endless red carpet parade for X-Men: Days of Future Past, it couldn't have come at a better time — because what better way to promote your fashion house than to choose someone who's just finished a (hilarious) press tour with Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellan, and Patrick Stewart? In all seriousness though, the campaign is well-deserved to say the least, and his ultra-well-dressed appearances in films through out his career are all the proof we need.

Really, when you think about it, McAvoy's the perfect model; you could even say it's something he's been working towards his entire career, because...

He stole everyone favorite author's heart in Becoming Jane

Whilst wearing a cravat, of course.

He stole Magneto's heart in X-Men: First Class

This was before the '70s trend hit, by the way.

He broke the collective whole world's heart in Atonement

Because, tuxedo.

...And he scared the pants off us all in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe

Did you know some people ship Lucy x Mr. Tumnus? You're welcome for the mental scarring.
